Hi everyone! I'm going to post a holiday letter here for folks that are interested in how we are doing.
Eris has started kindergarten this year! Our baby is growing up! Here's her first day at school:
She's very interested in so many things. She loves to read books, and she loves science. She participated in the science fair at school! She's also taken to cooking and she cooked our Thanksgiving pumpkin pie. She's also quite the gamer girl and can often be seen playing Rock Band, DDR, and her DS.
Chris is doing well in his job, not too much exciting has happened there this year but he published several papers and even a book chapter. He's moving along in his PhD studies at Maryland, and has completed another three courses this year. He's branching out a bit from his Math/CS background into computational neuroscience, and really enjoyed his first neuro course. He's 18 months into the degree now, hopefully he'll finish before the sun turns red giant and vaporizes the earth.
Angel's quest for a clean and organized house is still being twarted by Chris and Eris' efforts. She's basically supermom, continuing her full time work-at-home job as well as her second shift taking care of home and family.
All in all a pretty good year!

Long voting lines
This year voting lines are the longest I've ever seen at New Market.
Seriously, there has never been a line here before!!

Playground in Atlanta
Here Eris plays on a mystery animal rocker on an Atlanta playground.
Is it pig? Are it turtle? My God, elephant? We may never know.

Gecco bound
So this week we are heading to the Gecco genetic algoritms conference.
It should be a good time, we participated in a contest (didn't do to
great though). I'm excited to head back to Atlanta and equally excited
because we are driving there (ROAD TRIP!!!)

Ok, I'm done testing posts with the iphone
Sorry about all of those UFO posts. Turns out it was just Eris and an inappropriate hot dog ad.

If you're gonna spew, part 2
I only post when the kid is sick I think :) So Eris, now a 5 year old, just spewed in my NEW car from some kind of tummy virus. Yuck! No pix yet but perhaps I will add one soon. Woo hoo. Jezebel (my car) was not amused.
The funny thing was, I was looking for the Wayne's World clip where Garth says "If you're gonna spew, spew into this" and this blog happens to be on the front page of a GIS for that phrase. So I decided to post. Thanks internet!

Heading out to California
Wow, I suck at this internet thing. My blog is never updated. Maybe I should update more.
Soon I am going to be heading to Cali for a work trip and a little snowboarding on the side. The fam can't come so that's sad but hopefully we'll have some fun. Maybe I will even blog about it when I get back ^_^
